The University of Utah invites USHE Members to Tour HELIX Building

The Healthcare, Educators, Leaders and Innovators Complex (HELIX) project was recently completed on the University of Utah campus. Housing several clinical departments within the University of Utah Health School of Medicine, the project is a 5 ½ story 250,000 square foot office building. Designed to support the highly collaborative and hybrid work schedule of clinical providers, the facility has a myriad of meeting spaces including: collaborative touchdown areas, huddle rooms, and conference rooms of varying sizes. 

HELIX is the first all-electric buildings on campus which utilizes chilled plant water to extract heat to heat the building. This new system is proving that heat recovery units can be used in new and innovative ways that will help the University of Utah move towards its carbon neutral goals. The building is one of the first buildings of its size to not have a generator. The building features several UPS systems that support the life safety and IT system.

Parking Information – There is no public parking provided at the HELIX complex.

• Park at Rice-Eccles Stadium
• Take the TRAX Red Line to the University of Utah Medical Center Stop on Mario Capecchi Drive.

             
Event Meeting Location – Meet at the West Entrance to the building. Please meet at least 10 minutes before the tour start time. The tour will start promptly at 10:30.
